Michelle Visage considers her own solo album after Steps collab

Michelle Visage seems open to the idea of recording her own album, after featuring on the new version of Steps‘ Heartbreak In This City.

The single edit of the What The Future Holds bop was unleashed earlier this week and wasted no time in racing to No1 on iTunes – marking a rare non-Drag-Race-related musical moment from former popstar Michelle.

Could she be tempted to bring out her own collection?

In a new interview, she told Official Charts: “It’s something I’ve been asked over the years and I’ve always been that person who has never worked without producers giving me songs.

“I’ve written a few lyrics over the years, but I’m not a songwriter. If the song doesn’t move me to sing it, I can’t be arsed.

“But with this song, I felt like I had to sing on it, so I thought, maybe I can do this? So, maybe! It’s a strong maybe.”

After being encouraged by Faye Tozer to take the leap, she added: “I guess in my mind I’m my own demise, where inner saboteurs happen and all that stuff. Who needs a fifty-year-old pop star?

“Maybe I should just do it – what do I have to lose?”

Heartbreak In This City is, of course, the second iTunes chart-topper in as many weeks to boast stars of Drag Race – the United Kingdolls made quite a splash with UK Hun? earlier this month.
