Hailee Steinfeld‘s new single came out last week and I loved it from the off (I put at the top of that new music round-up, in fact), but Christ it’s still lingering with me a week later.
The Annie Lennox-sampling midtempo angstballad hasn’t turned that many heads so far, at least in my own echo chamber – probably because, it came out alongside the Dua and 5SOS albums and a new Little Mix single. But I’d love it if it had some kind of ongoing traction like Starving and Let Me Go did (although the uptempo dance crossovers probably helped those a lot).
Apparently Hailee’s got a new “project” (an EP sort of situation, presumably?) coming out in the near future, Coronavirus-depending, so I’m officially as excited for her music now as I was when she first dropped Haiz five years ago.
