100 songs of the decade: Into The Blue – Kylie Minogue

100 songs of the decade: Into The Blue – Kylie Minogue

Written by: Kelly Sheehan, Mike Del Rio and Jacob Kasher
Produced by: Mike Del Rio
Album: Kiss Me Once
UK release: March 2014
UK chart peak: 12

The Kiss Me Once era already feels a little swept under the carpet, doesn’t it, but I loved it; and Into The Blue is the song I put at No1 on my year-end singles list in 2014.

In my opinion Kylie Minogue‘s most under-rated single, I love Into The Blue’s nervous-but-determined energy; the throbbing synths underneath the delicate high-pitched vocals nailing that angsty feeling that comes with making big, bold #lifechoices.

Actually TRIVIA ALERT it was the song I listened to on repeat this summer when I went freelance. I was on the DLR home after my final actual-employment shift, wistfully looking out the window, getting funny looks, feeling my basic little EMOTIONS.

  • I’ll be writing about my favourite 100 pop songs of the decade; one a day for the last 100 days of 2019. They’re in no particular order, except the Top 10 – which will (obviously) come in late December.
