And so another decade comes to an end with Kylie Minogue among its most consistently amazing popstars. She’s ending the 10s on top of her game with the Step Back In Time concerts (and that Glastonbury set), just as she began it with one of my personal favourite eras of hers: Aphrodite.

That album coughed up two of her career-best songs, one of which is this shimmering, campy, high-energy floorfiller that needs – nay, DEMANDS – sensational choreography, glitter cannons and lots and lots of sequins. Get Outta My Way is an instant mood-lifter, the kind of which should be prescribed on the NHS and used in place of nourishing skincare products*.

Long live our gay overlord Kylie Ann Minogue.

*not confident the science will back me up here but who’s to say??

  • I’ll be writing about my favourite 100 pop songs of the decade; one a day for the last 100 days of 2019. They’re in no particular order, except the Top 10 – which will (obviously) come in late December.
