New Music Friday: Rebecca Ferguson! Grace Davies! A Tom Aspaul/Little Boots-penned Tia Kofi song!

Oooh I was very excited to open my Release Radar playlist on Spotify at 0:01 this morning and find PLENTY of stuff out today that I had either forgotten was coming or didn’t realise was imminent.

First up, Rebecca Ferguson is back with her latest Nile Rodgers collab No Words Needed; which is suuuuuch an irresistible, shimmering lil’ sexybop, and one that I’ve already been humming the chorus of a lot. She sounds amazing, the production is sublime… I feel like this is an extremely promising new chapter for her, music-wise.

In other ‘excellent X Factor runner-ups releasing music’ news, Grace Davies follows the flawless Friends With The Tragic EP with the stunning I Met A Boy Online; a stripped-back piano ballad with thoughtful lyrics (“What if he sees me in person and hates me like I do? He’ll pretend it’s not true, but it’s always the same” 🥺) and gorgeously layered backing vocals. May it soundtrack heartwrenching break-up scenes on e.g. Love Island for many moons to come.

Justine Sky is back!! She’s teamed up with Timbaland for her new track Intruded. Shura‘s with us again too; bringing Rosie Lowe along for Obsession. And Conan Gray has delivered a massive pop song in the form of Overdrive.

Katy B is on the new single edit of Moses Boyd‘s 2 Far Gone, as debuted earlier in the week. Little Boots and Tom Aspaul have written Tia Kofi‘s debut single (it’s what she deserves!). And Taylor Swift has returned the guest-star favour for HAIM: she’s on the new single version of Gasoline.
