Michelle Visage teases Steps collab: ‘Heartbreak In This City is an absolute bop’

Michelle Visage has spoken of her excitement at getting to collaborate with Steps on a new edit of their latest single, Heartbreak In This City.

The irresistible banger will be the fourth cut from the band’s What The Future Holds album, and marks Visage’s first appearance on record since featuring on RuPaul’s Category Is… in 2016.

In a statement confirming it’ll be released next week, she beamed: “To say that I’m honoured to record a song with pop icons Steps is the understatement of the year.

“With the state of the world today, we all need music that makes us feel good and trust me when I tell you, Heartbreak In This City is an absolute BOP!

“After years of dreaming about it, for at least a moment in time, I can officially be ‘Michelle from Steps’! CAN SOMEONE PINCH ME PLEASE?

“I hope everyone loves listening to it as much as I loved recording it!”

Faye Tozer added: “Not only did Michelle and I have the same dance partner Giovanni Pernice on Strictly Come Dancing, but we both played the role of Miss Hedge in the West End production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

“We’ve since become good friends and constantly chat all things Strictly and Drag Race by WhatsApp!”

Which can only lead me to say: FAYE FOR DRAG RACE GUEST JUDGE.

The statement confirms that Michelle’s Drag Race UK co-star Alan Carr will give Heartbreak In This City its first radio play next Thursday, February 25 at 7:50am, as he sits in for Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2. It’ll then be on sale and out for streaming from 8am.

For now, you can hear the original album edit below.
