It seems Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett are putting out a sequel to their 2014 duets album Cheek To Cheek – the news being revealed alongside the sad announcement today that Bennett has Alzheimer’s.
According to AARP, the 94-year-old has had the condition since 2016; but has yet to display the levels of “disorientation” often seen in advanced cases.
As he shared the article on Twitter, he said: “Life is a gift – even with Alzheimer’s.”
Since his diagnosis, he has been working with Gaga at widely spaced-out sessions that spanned from 2018 to 2020. Now, it seems their efforts will finally see the light of day in the spring.
Cheek To Cheek was a Grammy-winning success following its release seven years ago; hitting No1 on the US Billboard 200 and No10 in the UK. It has since been certified Gold Stateside, and Silver here.
No release date or title for its follow-up has yet been revealed, and Gaga has yet to comment.
