My Marianne and Will Ferrell‘s Husavik (My Hometown) from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is now officially part of awards season. AS IT DESERVES TO BE!
The track – lip-synced by Rachel McAdams on-screen – was blanked by the Golden Globes last week, but has now garnered a Best Song nomination from the Critics Choice Awards.
The ceremony is slated to take place on March 7, and will air on The CW in the US.
Husavik’s competition in this category is Everybody Cries by Rita Wilson from The Outpost, H.E.R.‘s Fight For You from Judas And The Black Messiah, Pausini‘s Diane Warren-penned Io sì (Seen) from The Life Ahead, Leslie Odom Jr‘s Speak Now from One Night In Miami, and Andra Day singing Tigress & Tweed from The United States Vs Billie Holiday.
Of course I’m sure you already know that Husavik is a legit award-winner: it picked up Best Song For A Movie at our very own Golden Bop Awards before Christmas.
The music from the film is also up for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media at the Grammys; where it faces A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, Bill & Ted Face the Music, Frozen II and Jojo Rabbit.
