Girlband stars react to Little Mix’s historique BRITs win for Best British Group

To quote a legend, IT’S ABOUT TIME!

A female act finally won Best British Group at the BRIT Awards, and a triumphant Little Mix made the most of the moment – delivering one hell of a speech that paid tribute to those who came before them.

Jade said: “The fact that a girl band has never won this award really does speak volumes, so this award isn’t just for us, it’s for the Spice Girls, Sugababes, All Saints, Girls Aloud, all of the incredible female bands. This one’s for you!”

Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud was among the first fellow girlband icons to react:

Keisha Buchanan of Sugababes backed the now-trio for the award and was also congratulatory:

Siobhan Donaghy, meanwhile, recalled voting for the girls back in their early days:

Kimberley Walsh shared some adoration on her Insta stories as well:

The Spice Girls – or rather, whoever runs the Spice Girls’ Twitter account – congratulated them too:

Emma Bunton paid tribute on Insta, with Melanie C giving some love to “the speech from @littlemix” in the comments:

Geri Horner congratulated both Little Mix and the Union Jack-clad Dua Lipa:

All Saints showed some love on their Insta stories:

Aaaand the most exciting congrats was, fittingly, a shout-out from their ex:
