Elton John and Years And Years’ It’s A Sin cover has gone down very well

Olly Alexander – aka Years and Years – and Elton John are atop the iTunes chart this morning with their cover of Pet Shop Boys‘ It’s A Sin. Gay rights!

The track was performed at the BRITs last night, and a live recording was released immediately afterwards – flying to the summit of the digital store’s rundown almost instantly.

Rag’n’Bone Man and P!nk occupy numbers two and three with different versions of Anywhere Away From Here, which was also sung on the programme, and Rising Star champ Griff has shot up more than 100 places to No4 with Black Hole.

Coldplay‘s Higher Power and different versions of The Weeknd‘s Save Your Tears follow, meaning the whole Top 7 is currently made up of BRITs performers.

We all know by this point that the iTunes chart doesn’t count for nearly as much these days because the numbers are so small compared to what they were ten years ago – but still, let’s celebrate that!
