I’ll do my usual new music round-up over the weekend, as per, but I’ll talk about this new Duffy track separately – because it’s not available on streaming ‘etc’.
River In The Sky was dropped on Instagram yesterday, following the recent release of Something Beautiful to radio only.
It’s extremely poignant and beautiful, and it resonates twice as powerfully given the horrible things she opened up about earlier in the year.
Plus, a good thing about it being released so quietly and in such an unusual manner is that it can’t be judged as a big ‘comeback single’, like it undoubtedly would be if it were formally rolled-out on iTunes, Spotify, radio and such. Here, we can just appreciate its glory without putting pressure on it to ~perform.
Duffy captioned the Insta post: “For the better days to come, Duffy.”
