Clean Bandit are releasing a new summer anthem in, er, darkest January

There’s a new Clean Bandit single coming out this Friday, which is both exciting and fascinating considering it’s apparently a sunny, summery midtempo anthem. Gimme that sweet, sweet escapism!

The track, called Higher, drops on January 29 and their guest star this time around is Iann Dior.

Bastille‘s Dan Smith has a writing credit alongside Dior and the band; and Official Charts has warned that the “warm” song could very much prove to be an irresistible grower.

A post on the band’s Insta teases what could be the central lyric: “Nothing matters at all when I see you with your eyes on me, I’m higher, higher, higher.”

Clean Bandit have had quite the hot streak in the singles department, and actually I had it in my mind that their last single – Tick Tock, featuring Mabel and 24kGoldn – wasn’t massively successful; but I’ve just seen that it did in fact pierce the Top 10; peaking at No8.

They’ve had four No1s so far: Rather Be with Jess Glynne, Rockabye with Sean Paul and Anne-Marie, Symphony with Zara Larsson, and Solo with Demi Lovato.

Here’s their little Insta teaser thing (it really doesn’t give much/anything away):
