The headline event this #NewMusicFriday is absolutely the new album from Demi Lovato – which, as a long-time Demi stan, I have to say I was a bit apprehensive about. But it’s so good!! I might post something separate about that, but for now, these NMF round-ups are generally kept to singles only – and given as title track Dancing With The Devil is the current single (and it was featured last week), I’ll put it to one side.

Demi aside, I wouldn’t say it’s Good Friday per-sé – the pickings are slim! But there’s some decent stuff to be found. Foxes has released her new Friends In The Corner EP, and Dance is the track that seems to be the de facto single (I’m not sure it actually is a single, to be fair, but I’ll bend the rules a bit for an EP) – and it’s as wonderful as her best stuff.

Bree Runway stakes a very early claim for song of the summer with HOT HOT, which really puts the pressure on us as a society to give her a big Superstar Moment. VALDIS has released a shimmering bop called Breathe; and Olivia Rodrigo – fresh from her Q1 domination with Driver’s Licence – is back with her second proper single, Deja-Vu. I don’t think it quite bottles lightning like its predecessor, but then it took that song a little while to really grow on me, so maybe this’ll be the same…?
