Today is the day Girls Aloud fans are buying Hear Me Out on iTunes in a show of support for timeless pop legend Sarah Harding.
Amazingly, the campaign has already – in the space of a few hours – had the track roaring up to Number One on the store’s in-house bestseller list.
Sarah, who is fighting advanced cancer, releases her memoir of the same name today (March 18); and the song was the one she co-wrote and sang lead on for the What The Neighbours Say? album in 2004.
Absolute top work to those including @SarahAddicts who have been leading the charge – Alouders, let’s keep it up!! Purchase here.
In racing to No1 on iTunes in the UK, Hear Me Out leapfrogs two versions of Nathan Evans‘ sea shanty Wellerman, which had been at the top of the list for quite some time.
Digital Sales Data estimates the lovely ballad has likely sold over 500+ copies this morning.
In other GA news, Sarah’s memoir reveals a slew of (quite ridiculous) band names they were almost given; and Nadine has been reflecting on that iconic intro to the Tangled Up Tour.
