The pop categories at the Grammys were all won by different artists, which is nice.
Pop Solo Performance was won by Harry Styles for Watermelon Sugar; besting Justin Bieber’s Yummy, Doja Cat’s Say So, Billie Eilish’s Everything I Wanted, Dua Lipa’s Don’t Start Now and Taylor Swift’s Cardigan.
Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande took Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Rain On Me; triumphing over tracks from J Balvin/Dua Lipa/Bad Bunny/Tainy; Justin Bieber/Quavo; BTS and Taylor Swift/Bon Iver.
Best Pop Vocal Album went to Dua Lipa for Future Nostalgia; triumphing over Bieber’s Changes, Gaga’s Chromatica, Styles’ Fine Line and Swift’s Folklore.
And Traditional Pop Vocal Album was taken by James Taylor‘s American Standard.
In the main categories, Swift won a historic third Album of the Year prize for Folklore; while Eilish took Record of the Year for Everything I Wanted; H.E.R. took Song of the Year for I Can’t Breathe and Megan Thee Stallion swept Best New Artist – the first ever female rapper to do so.
She also took Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for Savage (featuring Beyonce); and Beyonce also won Best R&B Performance for Black Parade.
Bey is now the most awarded female artist, and the most awarded singer (any gender) in Grammys history. Deserved!
