Selena Gomez feels under-rated; might retire from music after her next album

Selena Gomez has revealed that she may put her music career to one side after her next album, because she doesn’t feel like she’s given much respect as an artist.

In fact, in a new interview, she said she wants to give acting a serious go – and may well “retire” from pop in order to give that her full attention.

“It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously,” she told Vogue.

“I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’

“Lose You to Love Me I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people, it still wasn’t enough.”

That song became a huge No1 hit on the Hot 100, and also became her highest charting track on the UK – peaking at No3 and going Platinum.

“I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different,” she added.

“I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”

She continued to say that she wants to “give myself a real shot at acting”.

To be fair, she has been in the music game for well over a decade now; releasing three albums on her own and three with Selena Gomez And The Scene since 2009.

She’s been releasing some bops in Spanish this year, and last week also featured on DJ Snake’s new track Selfish Love. She’ll release the EP Revelación on Friday.
