You don’t need me to tell you how much of a crying shame it is that Agnes is only really (broadly speaking) known for the Dance Love Pop era in territories like the UK… but God, what an era it was!

Following the massive breakout success of Release Me, I Need You Now arrived as its follow-up in late 2009; juuuuust managing to scrape into the UK Top 40 at No40. It was also a Top 10 smash in Sweden, and performed well in Estonia, Slovakia, the Netherlands and Ukraine.

The UK Radio Edit is a liiiittle bit glossier than the also-great original, but both versions are anchored by an irresistible string riff, a chorus that feels massive despite keeping Agnes’ vocals relatively restrained, and lyrics that tap into that timeless theme of ‘love meeee!’
