Daily Bop: Best Behaviour – Louisa

It’s mad to think it’s already been over half a decade since Louisa became the inevitable winner of the 2015 run of The X Factor. Madder still that this particular song, which still sounds incredibly fresh, is almost four years old itself.

Produced by the absolute pop Gods that are TMS, Best Behaviour is the kind of quietly addictive song that doesn’t initially sound like it’s up to much, but very quickly becomes something you’ll listen to 37 times in a row without even thinking about it. Don’t be fooled by the fact it just missed the UK Top 40: it still managed to pick up a Silver certification from the BPI and currently has over 25 million streams on Spotify.

It remains a crying shame that she never got a shot at putting out a full major label album, because between this, the ground-shaking YES (also criminally slept-on) and the excellent Clean Bandit collab Tears, it probably would have slapped. But given the quick downfall of Syco that we’ve seen over the last few years, maybe she actually had a lucky escape. FWIW she put out a really likeable bop independently last year.

At least we’ll always have this utter belter.
