Avril Lavigne has confirmed that work on her seventh studio album has been completed.

The star released her sixth collection Head Above Water two years ago this month – and its follow-up, believed to be going down more of a pop-punk route, should be with us mid-2021.

When a fan said on Insta that they “can’t wait for #AL7”, the artist herself replied saying: “it’s done!!!”.

On when we can expect to put it in our ears, she added: “Music coming soon. For sure summer.”

Avril appeared on MOD SUN‘s track Flames last month, and the song already has 6.8 million streams on Spotify and 4.8 million video views on YouTube.

Incidentally MOD SUN is thought to be involved in this new album, as well as the reinvented Machine Gun Kelly and producer John Feldmann.
