The upcoming fourth album from Adele is a right humdinger, according to close pal Alan Carr.

Speaking in an interview with Michelle Visage ahead of tonight’s RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season two premiere, he revealed that he’s heard a few songs from the project and is very, very impressed.

“I’ve heard some tracks on it,” he said, per Grazia UK. “Oh my gosh, it’s so amazing. It’s so amazing.

“I said to her, I said, ‘That voice is like an old friend.’

“Because there are some people [on] the charts who sound a bit like Adele and you go, ‘Oh they sound [like] Adele,’ and then when you hear Adele’s voice again you go, ‘Oh no, there’s only one. There’s only one Adele.’”

Adele was rumoured late last year to be on the verge of releasing new stuff, especially when she hosted Saturday Night Live in October. Nothing came, though, and it’s thought the successor to 25 could arrive at some point in 2021.

Carr even seems to think it could arrive as soon as February, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see about that.
