Miley Cyrus has spoken about the people she has on board for what is presumably a song from her previously-mentioned Metallica covers album(!).
Elton John, classical cellist Yo-Yo Ma and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are all involved on the song Nothing Else Matters, which Miley previously covered at Glastonbury in 2019.
She told Capital FM: “I did a Metallica cover of Nothing Else Matters featuring Elton John on the piano. I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith. So many all-stars.
“I’m so excited about this collaboration. I’m really stoked. I love when ingredients don’t quite fit.”
If this is for the covers album, it’s a project that was first mentioned in an interview with, er, Interview last year.
“We’ve been working on a Metallica covers album,” she had said. Told you!
“We’re so lucky to be able to continue to work on our art during [the coronavirus pandemic]. At first, it felt uninspiring and now I’ve been totally ignited.”
No release date as yet, but let’s not pretend Miley doesn’t have form with excellent covers!! I just hope this doesn’t stop the likes of Gimme What I Want getting the full single treatment.
