Melissa McCarthy has sort of but not really but also very definitely spoken about potentially playing Ursula in The Little Mermaid.

The #industry #papers reported recently that she’s in advanced talks to play the iconic villain, but so far the only cast member who’s been officially announced is Halle Bailey as Ariel.

Speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, McCarthy played down the chat but like… she’s definitely doing it.

“I hadn’t heard about that,” she said theatrically.

“It seems like it would be an awfully fun thing to do! “I’d love it if Disney gave me a little ringy dingy. We’ll see!”

After the hammiest to-camera wink of all time, she added: “If it did [happen], it would be very wonderful. Disney!”

So essentially yes, Melissa McCarthy is Ursula. Watch above.
