If being gay were a country, All The Lovers would probably at this point be its national anthem.
A gorgeous, synthy semi-ballad with affectionate low-key vocals from Kylie Minogue herself, it’s been a transcendent MOMENT each and every time (that’s thrice) I’ve seen her in concert. When the piano comes in during the second verse? When it all finally kicks the fuck off during the middle-8? The “yeah-yeah-yeah”s under the last chorus? All adrenaline rushes!
As far as I’m concerned, this, Get Outta My Way and Into The Blue are the Kylie Trinity, and comfortably among my favourite songs of all ever.
I’ll be writing about my favourite 100 pop songs of the decade; one a day for the last 100 days of 2019. They’re in no particular order, except the Top 10 – which will (obviously) come in late December.
